Welcome To GainStage
Escape the noise. Grow with guidance. Make the best records of your life.
GainStage is a private community for musicians, engineers and producers who are tired of algorithm noise, fragmented tutorials, generic advice, and making music in isolation. Learn the craft, sharpen your instincts, and grow inside a serious, inspiring creative home.
Led by acclaimed producers, artists, mixing and mastering engineers whose collective work includes multiple Grammy wins, Grammy nominations, and more than 1.5 billion streams.
Most musicians do not need more content. They need a better place to grow.
The internet is full of tutorials, opinions, tricks, and recycled advice. You can spend years bouncing between videos and still feel unsure of what actually matters.
Meanwhile, the work that really moves you forward, better instincts, better decisions, real feedback, and creative momentum, is much harder to find.
GainStage was built for musicians and producers who want something better: a trusted environment where they can learn the craft, make stronger choices, and stop growing alone.

PREMIUM COURSE
"Inside The Song; From First Idea to Final Master"
A rare inside look at how a real record comes to life. Built around Chayla Hope’s “Say You’re Sorry,” this multi-hour course follows the song from writing with Jake Fader, to production in Nashville with Lee J. Turner and top session players, to mixing with Jim Stewart, and finally mastering with Dan Millice in New York City. At a time when most artists only see fragments of the process, this course gives you access to the full creative arc, so you can better understand how strong records are built, sharpen your own instincts, and apply those lessons directly to your own work. You will also get the full session files, so you can practice making your own production and mix decisions along the way.
With more courses currently in production, members will always have immediate access to the latest releases...

Who?
GainStage was created by four music professionals who wanted to start the kind of music production community that they always wished existed.
Lee J. Turner is a Nashville-based producer, vocal producer, keyboardist, and recording engineer whose work bridges contemporary country, pop, and genre-blending collaborations. Known for his precision in the studio and strong musical instincts behind the keys, Turner has become a trusted creative partner for artists at the highest levels of the industry.
A significant part of Turner’s recent career has been his work with Darius Rucker. He served as vocal producer on Rucker’s chart-topping No. 1 hit “Beers and Sunshine,” helping shape the performance and vocal delivery that drove the song’s success. Turner also contributed extensively to Rucker’s album Carolyn’s Boy, producing vocals on seven tracks and playing a key role in the project’s overall sound and execution.
Beyond his work with Rucker, Turner’s production credits reflect a wide stylistic range. He produced Darius Rucker’s vocals on “I Hope You’re Happy” for BigXthaPlug, showcasing his ability to move seamlessly into hip-hop-influenced territory. Another vocal in that genre is “To Be a Man” by Dax featuring Darius Rucker. He has also worked on a Diane Warren–penned song, as well as a Darius Rucker and Jewel duet produced by Butch Walker, further highlighting his versatility in handling powerful vocal performances across genres.
Operating out of Nashville, Turner’s studio work centers on capturing authentic, emotionally resonant vocals. His studio collaborates consistently with artists around the world and is equipped to bring in remote clients through a visionary video system that integrates seamlessly with his audio recording process. His approach blends technical expertise with an artist-first mindset, making him a go-to vocal producer for both established stars and emerging talent.
In addition to his production work, Turner has built a strong career as a keyboard player. A seasoned session and touring musician, he has performed with major artists, including Darius Rucker, bringing a dynamic range of piano, organ, and synthesizer textures to both live and recorded settings. His playing style draws from traditional roots while incorporating modern sounds, allowing him to adapt across country, rock, and pop productions with ease.
With a career defined by collaboration, musicality, and a deep understanding of both performance and production, Lee J. Turner continues to be an influential contributor to Nashville’s evolving sound, equally at home behind the console and behind the keys.

For the past 20 years I’ve been making records with bands and artists at all levels of their careers. From High school garage bands, to nationally touring bands playing arenas.
During that time I realized that I love helping producers, artists and bands bring out all the subtle nuances and explosive energy of their recordings.
Whether you’re a self-producing artist or a producer looking for an emotion-obsessed teammate, I’d love to meet you.
Jim Stewart- Mixing Engineer, Recording Engineer, Producer
